It is understood a shot fired by the police in Portadown on Thursday night went through the window of a pensioner's home. A police spokesperson said that an officer discharged one shot during disturbances at a house in Obin Street. It happened at about 2030 GMT. There are not believed to have been any injuries. Two men, aged 51 and 36, have been arrested. The disturbances are not thought to have been sectarian. SDLP councillor Michael McGoldrick said local residents were "shocked" by the incident. Absolutely nuts.
