Police gone soft?

Met senior officers have never supported the rank and file in the subsequent enquiries. Going back to Red Lion Square when A10 as complaints was called arrested a number of SPG pcs on the day one of them was supposed to get married. No one knew where they were being held, the SPG mobilised unofficially to search every station in the MPD to find them and Federation solicitors tried to get a writ of habeas corpus against the Commissioner to produce them.

Incidentally when were long batons permitted as part of the public order arsenal, they were always strictly verboten except for the donkey wallopers. In the 80s after Brixton at Hounslow the public order instructors trialled them and came to the conclusion that plastic bullets were the preferred option to big sticks because a plastic bullet would travel in a straight line until it hit something or stopped as the energy dissipated, on the other hand an angry copper with a big stick would hit something keep going round corners up stairs through doors and keep hitting things and take an awful long time to stop. SPG/ TSG had a store of staves for use during raids etc but definitely not public order.

Just a comment on the subject of women police officers; As I first joined, we still had a WPCs department, which meant that they had certain specified duties but did not patrol. That changed and WPCs became part of a patrol section. I worked with some blinders. Hard working, hard fighting lasses. In contrast, I had a probationer assigned to me who was ex RN. First patrol with him, he told me he didn't like working in the dark, was afraid of vagrants ( of which we had many) and hoped he would always have another bloke with him. He didn't finish his probation. I can't complain about any of the WPCs who I worked with, all excellent coppers.
Out of interest,if an officer doesn't come up to scratch during probation, what happens next?

I'd imagine it was deemed acceptable under Blairs government to batter the crap out of what many assume are traditional Tory voters though...
For accuracy.
Urban socialists are often unable to comprehend nuances, so to that type of mind, living in the countryside generally equates to being a rich Tory landowner.

Any Met Pol able to tell us what Transformation Command does?
Advances careers.

I do wearily say "No-one ever got promoted for thief taking " for a reason.

There is an Unsatisfactory Performance Process (UPP) to follow in order to seek their dismissal. During probation, it is relatively easy for The Chief to dismiss them.

On the one hand you have individual officers showing great courage and on the other hand there are the show-off officers who would really rather be celebs. This one seems to have taken it to the next level.

How will the Met handle this, I wonder?

A person of Nigerian descent arrogantly thinking rules don't apply to them.... Adonbilivit!

I'm amazed she was awake

I was on the first countryside alliance march being a farmers son myself but thankfully there was a lot less trouble than the second one. I do remember a load of swampy looking types launching full cans and plastic bottles at us at one point but nobody responded other than shouting a bit of abuse back.

This...........
Yeah usual bollocks.

Couple of years off now whilst the IOPC try and get the "correct result", bet the rest of the bus have learnt the object lesson.

Meanwhile bosses will be running for cover.

As it was and shall be, world without end, Amen.

These protestors, were they of the Antifa variety?

I thought that the Countryside Alliance March was great. It gave the Old Bill the opportunity to demonstrate that we were equal opportunity brutes.

Nothing more satisfying that cracking the heads of people who firmly believed that you were safely in their pockets.
