You’re telling me, but you learn to live with it, I just took the piss, told them I was getting paid for this shit, and in oh, glance at watch two hours I’ll be going home, and you’ll be here. till court in the morning.
Always got a laugh from fellow coppers and a further outbreak of expletives as he or she was taken back to the cell.
And that was before we had cctv every where.

One way of handing in your resignation I suppose. Although he will probably be sacked.
You're almost certainly right on that score. Although I doubt that was his game plan when he started his shift
Why do some people get up in the morning hell bent on fecking up other people's lives:-?
I think the second half is more applicable to the low lives the police have to deal with.

For which I'm grateful.

If you watch any of the numerous "reality" police programmes on tv, you will see loads of incidents where the scum caught assault/spit/abuse the police trying to arrest them and many of the sentences given by the "woke" courts are little more than slaps on the wrist. Just as well this crap never happened when I was in the NRP. Anyone compliant during an arrest was treated fairly but firmly, any f**king about on their part was dealt with very "firmly" indeed, often involving numerous strikes with a baton until they complied! We didn't get very many that tried it on and tried to be the "hard man" that lots of the modern scum in the UK do, as unless they were totally pissed or out of their head on drugs they knew what would happen. Just as well I don't serve here now.
IMHO we need to reintroduce corporal punishment here and carry it out in public, to show how "hard" these scum are when getting their just deserts, it would deter quite a few of these would be "gangstas"!

The last police tv show I saw showed three youths caught in a stolen car, boot full of electronics and aftershaves and perfumes, drugs and booze in the car.
They were all released pending further enquiries.

Some of the stuff on the t.v shows does seem rather a waste of time
Cops chase a car round town keep saying they'll decamp shortly.
Despite telling us it would happen they aren't close enough when the car stops and they all run away
Cops flood the area and tell us how happy they are to have recovered a 15 year old Corsa
If they do get someone they stay silent so are released pending further enquirers.
If he's a disqualified driver we get told they are getting another 6 points on the license they not only don't have but clearly don't care about.

I can't help thinking the show would be far more entertaining if the cop pulled a knife out and sawed 6 fingers off the criminal one after the other or shot them in the back of the head.

A lot can be said about American Cops but George Floyd hasn't reoffended since his last arrest

Maybe watch better programmes, like the CSI documentaries on BBC2, Undercover police investigating online abuse CH4, then there’s catching a murderer on BBC and CH4.

Part of the issue is the CPS.

Such shows once showed a chase . sCrotes did over 100mph one stretch of road, and then later (when slower, but still over 50mph) mounted the pavement to avoid a stinger, causing the stinger team to dive out of the way.
All on helicopter footage.

Criminal protection service: Charged with 'going a bit fast' and a couple of other minor offences. Got token result. Where's the bloody 2x counts attempted manslaughter?
Oh right, I know, you're not 100% certain you can make those stick, and they'll **** up your performance numbers if they don't win.

It’s about what can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, juries are fickle, having spent time on two trials, one involved a home intruder who climbed in bed with the victim, one female juror said maybe it was because the victim was drunk and the accused wanted a cuddle?

I didn't know there was an offence of attempted manslaughter.

That was exactly the point I was making, they don't want to risk failing a higher sentence. In the case above they could have nominated them for the higher tariff offence as well, could they not? Then worst case scenario, they fail the higher one, but still have them on the lesser offences of speeding etc (Which is what they got done on anyway).

Me neither, I was just using the words to highlight what could have been thrown at the little bastards.

You have to be charged for the offence to be tried, it’s the judges recommendation to offer the lesser charge. Law is awesome and expensive, fail to turn up, people flap under questioning etc

This chaps worth a read explaining why its happening!!

And yet another reason why our Police officers are fed up

The Police and Crime Commisioner Mark Burns-Williamson ,Mark | Police and Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire | WYPCC , ( should have stuck to being a stone mason)
who chairs the NPAS Strategic Board, announced in 2015, the purchase of two fixed wing aircraft, that would be all weather machines and operate at any time of the day
both of these aircraft are parked up at Doncaster, where they do the sqaure root of sod all
beacuse no pilots want to live in Doncaster
oh and soemthing he forgot to take into account, the bloody things cannot land at most provincial airports as they need a longer runway
The NPAS has a budget of 42 million, however bases and helicopters have been cut in the last ten years to save money, and many of the wokkas are between 20 to 25 years old causing the maintenance costs to rise alarmingly
Two of the four Vulcanair P68s remained grounded, at a purchase cost of 2.5 million each !!!

A friend is a procurement specialist who’s spent many hundreds of millions of his client’s money getting them the products they need to conduct their business correctly to keep the shareholders happy.

Mention “public sector procurement” in his presence and stand well back! A case such as this sums up the utter shambles that is allowed to happen when no-one is accountable. Who the fcuk thought fixed wing aircraft would be suitable for a search and surveillance role? Pound to a penny someone has interests in the plane manufacturer...

clear thinking would have dictated buying one, then trialling it
they have used one of the four, but I would think a nice holiday in Italy to view the aircraft might have helped

Or may I respectfully suggest that at the requirements gathering stage, someone should have pointed out that the solution they were seeking would need the ability to hover??

That was my thought as well. A couple of trampolines would have been about as much use and a damn sight cheaper.
