Police Civilian Firearms Instructors for PSNI

You will be up against some stiff competition. The last tranche of these they did the officers who were in the posts took early retirement under the Patton scheme and applied for the same post as a civilian. As you can imagine each of them had exactly the right qualifications, experience and knew the job inside out. Hardly anyone else got a look in.

Last time round the selected candidates,

about 50% were ex-Patton
25% were military of some form
25% were odds and sods

know of a couple of blokes who got the job with no prior military/police/firearms experience whatsoever.

Unlike the experienced civi armoury who stuck a nine mm round through his hand when ballsing about with a pistol.

I applied a few years ago for Police Armourer & the was 6 posts.I did the same job for years in the RAF but in the RAF you dont get a Armourers Cert as it's part of my trade.
And because of the 50% rule & me being number 4 on the shortlist,I got passed over.
Not happy.

(50% rule was 50% of posts went to Catholics & 50% to 'other' religions)
