The passenger aircraft industry is very conservative, and whilst these designs offer some benefits, they are too radical and the new technology is seen as a risk. For example in the 50s many manufacturers continued to build turboprops in case turbojets were a dead end. In 2025 aircraft will look very similar to how the look today and as they did in 1995, viz a high capacity, easily built and pressurized aluminium tube with 2 high lift 'wet' wings and two underslung high bypass turbofans that can be easily mainitained.
One future development could be robot cargo dirigibles. Could make shipping very cheap.
