Planespotetrs delight for 2025: Some interesting ideas for future passenger aircraft

  2. The passenger aircraft industry is very conservative, and whilst these designs offer some benefits, they are too radical and the new technology is seen as a risk. For example in the 50s many manufacturers continued to build turboprops in case turbojets were a dead end. In 2025 aircraft will look very similar to how the look today and as they did in 1995, viz a high capacity, easily built and pressurized aluminium tube with 2 high lift 'wet' wings and two underslung high bypass turbofans that can be easily mainitained.

    One future development could be robot cargo dirigibles. Could make shipping very cheap.
  3. As long as there's a sporting chance of planespotters getting locked up for photographing them, I'm happy.
