Placing a medal

  1. Been rooting around the old nans attic i found this medal, i wondered if anyone could place it, on the scroll reads "1914-15" and on the back is his name, service num. and regt. (gordon highlanders)

  2. Thanks for the help, this man survived the war, using his name, rank and number, can i find out much of his service druing the war?

    Give us his details on the reverse of the medal and it will open a pandoras box of information!
  4. I was hoping for an online source as Kew is a bit of a trek.No problems with name number and regt on here is there?im assuming not
  5. Kew can be used as an online ource. Also if you email the gordon highlanders museum in aberdeen
    They have quite a sizeable archive.

    What does the naming say?

    Name rank number and Regt/Corps?
  7. On the medal itself is Pte W Smith
    Gord. Highlanders

    Although i do know he was de-mobbed in 1920 a corporal.
