Interesting. Would setting up an OP be something frowned upon?

Perhaps a visible OP, observed by a couple of well hidden ones populated by angry men with sharpened bananas.
OP plus a battery of AS90s at a suitable distance like about 20km.
"What do you mean this isn't Castlemartin?"

So this on Friday Evening:

A convoy of travellers that pitched up on Burnham-On-Sea’s BASC Ground on Friday has ‘given their word’ that they will leave today (Sunday).

Police were called to the fields, just off Stoddens Road, just after 4pm on Friday when a line of a dozen vehicles towing caravans queued outside before they managed to gain entry onto the fields and flow in, as pictured above.

This includes visitors from Ireland on holiday

This on Sunday morning:

Thousands of pounds of high-value products have been stolen in a burglary at Sanders garden centre in Brent Knoll this weekend.

Burglars forced entry to the site during the early hours of Saturday morning (May 23rd), before taking away a large quantity of products with a value of over £10,000.

Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, manager Karen Hamer says she was “shocked” by the night-time incident.

“The burglary was well planned, taking place at 3am on Saturday morning,” she says.

“They forced their entry onto the site and then took away a large quantity of high-end barbecues, furniture, outdoor heaters and other products.”

“Several people would have been involved due to the weight and size of the products taken. We think a large lorry may have been used to take away the stolen items.”

“A lot of the products were our own brand – featuring the Blue Diamond logo or Webber and Kadie names, so they will be easy to identify.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Police on 101. The garden centre remains open.

In a spate of incidents this weekend, a quad bike was also stolen from a nearby farm in Brent Knoll and tools and garden machinery were stolen in East Huntspill.

Are they in any way related?
I wonder what will go missing over the next few days?

Burnham-On-Sea travellers
A stand-off between Police and a convoy of travellers has taken place in Burnham-On-Sea today (Wednesday) as they attempt to gain access to the town’s BASC sports ground.

A line of vehicles towing caravans arrived in Burnham’s Stoddens Road outside the BASC Ground at around 4.30pm, say residents.

Police were called to the scene, as pictured here, in an attempt to prevent the group forcing entry onto the sports fields.

It is understood that a small number of travellers are pitched up on the fields. It comes after a group forced their way onto the fields in May

Seems like the bizzies have realised they were falling out of favour. It was the same bunch that turned up a couple of months ago. This time the Bizzies arrived mob handed, X2 doggie vans and armed with some legal papers. Four 'vans had got on site, these were hoofed, and the rest of the hedgeshitting gang shepherded to the Mway.
Perhaps the A&S police have at last realised they are rapidly losing the support of the public.

I'd like to have seen the upholders of law and order, move down the line of vehicles carrying out tax, insurance, MoT and roadworthy checks.

After they'd cleared the site, prior to hitting the motorway.

It's just been reported in the local press that there's been a coronavirus 'hotspot' broken out here.

And, guess what, it's the local pikey site. Oh dear, etc.

Maybe the Police should set up just outside each illegal encampment to protect the travellers from any possible racism? I wonder how long it would take them to move on once their nocturnal movements were curtailed?

If you go anywhere near the travellers site near Slough they all come running out and drag tarpaulins over everything, like the 40 yard skip full of alloy wheels they've got in there.

By sheer coincidence the stretch of canal that runs next to the site is full of rubble and builders waste.

Just be thankful that they are now moving them on, that's a massive step in this new society of ours. More enforcement will come with time. Slowly slowly catchy monkey.
