Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Ok, I know that mobile phones are banned in theatre but I was wondering if I would be allowed to take my iphone, remove the sim card and use it as an ipod and general gaming device out there. Does anyone know if this is allowed or if I would not be trusted to only use it as an ipod.Any input from people in the know would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Nobody actually took my iPhone off me. YMMV

But I left it off except when I was in Kuwait. You are probably better getting yourself an iPod Classic or Touch ... Or a PSP.

  3. If you're not using it as a communications device, what they don't know won't hurt them.

  4. It'll get scratched to feck and damaged by the sand/dust why bother taking it when you'll feck it up, as Idrach said get something else.

  5. Fair point. Probably just take my old ipod then
