  1. Just published:

Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal judgment: Philip Joseph Shiner

    78 pages.

In summary: Deliberate, calculated and repeated misconduct, continued over several years, and Shiner sought to conceal his wrongdoing by the construction of elaborate strategies to mislead the SRA.

    Total costs over £720k.

The Tribunal wasn't having any of his 'unfit to attend', either.

Hard to see how he can avoid a criminal prosecution. Nice.

  2. @ViroBono,
You forgot to mention him being Struck Off.
  3. If it was a judgement written about my conduct I would feel somewhat uncomfortable as to the direction it might lead my life.

No punches pulled by the authors.

  5. I am obviously not au fait with the legal system but this is the lawyers associations report on a lawyer who has been found to be in breach of their code of conduct, therefore not a criminal matter surely?

This is concerned with him being stripped of professional recognition due to misconduct. It's separate to any criminal charges.
  7. That's how I understood it. Presumably he'll be stripped of all the 'honours' and accolades awarded.

    I'd flay the bugger.
  9. As generous as that?
