Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The government ought to remove taxation completely from all servicemen and women for the rest of their lives as a sign of the gratitude of the nation for them risking their lives. This should be passed to their families and children for one generation.

Also they ought to make sure that no service personnel have to pay for services they don't receive. And when they are old the pension for them should be raised to 1.5 times the average tax free.

  2. Yeah i agree, i read in the Times earlier this year that the British Army are the only army in the world to pay tax when serving abroad. It makes sense really, because in theory soldiers should be able to register as non-resident and therefore be exempt from UK taxation. But i suppose they call every camp a little piece of England so the squaddies can pay their own wages...
