Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hello,

Just a warning to you all out there on FTRS. I did FTRS back in 99 and was told that my 12 months would count towards my regular pension. I have just found out no it doesn't! There is a separate FTRS pension but you have to be on it for more than 2 years to qualify!

    Oh how happy I am!

  2. On the subject of pensions, my grandfather, a WW2 Tankie who escaped from a burning tank and MD'd due to his charred leg, passed away last year and my nan gets nothing because he didn't die from the wound!
  3. Its absolutely disgusting the way that vets and their families are treated, have you put her in touch with anyone?
