Not sure why that should be so. If it'd been poor old farmer Giles being dragged to his death, then thats just as abhorrent.
At least the police have numbers, comms, guns and the law on their side; the general public often have to put up with becoming victims of crime with no recourse to any state assistance or defence.
Turning this around, it is arguable that it was a policy of applying different rules to different groups that led to this tragedy in the first place. The Law and its penalties ought to be applied equally across the board irrespectively.
it is no less abhorrent, but PC Harper was duty bound to be there. It wouldn’t just be applicable to the Police, but also Fire, ambulance, etc. It would also apply to all crimes.
