Payback for the UK from Murdoch?

#1
It seems News International owner Rupert Murdoch is cosying up to Alex Salmond and his bid to take Scotland into independence. The new Sun on Sunday appears to have got a bit of an exclusive for Salmonds preffered date for the referendum.

So after all these years of political interference from this Australian chappy who is an American citizen, he's trying to influence the future of the UK. That seems to me to be going too far.

Should we lay down some new legislation that major media publications should only be owned by British citizens?

It's not an unusual requirement even in America, land of the free!

Here's a link: Sun reveals Salmond's preferred referendum date as 18 October 2014 | Politics | The Guardian

The weekday Scottish Sun supported the SNP (editorially) for years before switching to Labour. At the same time The Sun south of the border was supporting the Tories.

You're barking if you think it's anything to do with 'payback'. It's pure commercialism and very good business sense. Murdoch, for his faults, is not short of that.

You support the party who have the mandate / popular support / momentum as that is where your readers will have their support. When that changes, you change.

It's still a fact that this Australian chappy who is an American citizen is going to have an enormous amount of influence about the future of the United Kingdon as a whole. I don't see anything barking about not letting him do that?

The Sun - relentlessly populist. Whichever way the public lean The Sun will claim to have led the way!

lets ban The Sun - in the interests of freedom of speech. Or am I stealing the Leveson Inquiries thunder?

Round up sun "readers" and put them in camps for "correction". Or as Rupert puts it Save ten coupons for a ten pound caravan holiday. (yes....yes I have. Caravan holidays are my secret shame).

But surely Murdoch has always hated the UK as his father did before him?

Its the people that buy the bloody rags that are the problem.
Just start punching readers in the face every time you see them with one.
If you see murdoch, kick him in the nuts, simple as.

Murdoch is a ****. We send all our cnuts to England. We sent you Germaine Greer, Billy Connolly's wife and Kylie Minogue. There's only a couple of cnuts left in Australia and we all post on Arrse.

Last week, my Sun gave me via a cutout coupon a free bag of chips. the week previously, a container of long life milk. My family have enjoyed many cheap caravan hols in the past, courtesy of the magnificent Sun! I will admit the Telegraph owing to it's size, makes an excellent rudimentary tablecloth but no paper gives us, the great unwashed and ignorant proletariat, quite the spectacular vista of freebies such that emanate from the rays of "THE SUN!" Long may it continue. However I must admit to a liking for the Mirror in days of yore, when it featured Jane, Ruggles and Belinda not to mention the deliciously hunky Garth lol!
