Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. can members of guards para go on selection for pathfinders or do you need to transfer to 2 para first

  2. Pathfinders are tri-service, all-arms.

    Everyone can go for it, less Reserves.

  3. i thought the tri service selection thing was done away with a while ago :? , il take your word for it , cheers

  4. I assumed (thus making an ass out of u but mostly me) this hadn't changed.

    My bad.

  5. lol so the current situation is that pathfiner platoon only draws from para reg + attached personel , or both of us dont know and are guessing ?

  6. It's still tri-service.

  7. My nephew I Irish Gds :? just done pre-selection if that helps ?

  8. The section on the PF Plt in the Summer 09 edition of Pegasus states;

    "....of the twenty seven candidates who initially arrived, five were selected to serve with the Pathfinders. Joining Pathfinders in March were soldiers from 2 Para, 2 Royal Anglian, 7 Para RHA, 14 Signals Regt and 216 (Para) Signals Sqn"

    .....if that helps

  9. You trying out for Pathfinder then, Lostnconfused?

  10. Guards Para still around?

    I take it that Crabs, and wannabe Crabs, aren't too bothered by punctuation, (or indeed spelling). If you're trying for sarcasm, try harder, otherwise try harder.

  13. Yes,the Guards Platoon are attached to 3 Para

  14. I aint no crab. thats an awful thing to say. the crabs would NEVER manage the PF course...ever. i'm in the inf giants amongst men
