When I renew my passport will I keep the same number on the new replacement ?
No you will be issused a new biometric passport , new number.
Each passport has a unique number.
I have 2 passports and they both have different numbers. When I renew them the new passports have different numbers again. A said above, each passport is a unique document with its own number.
Thanks will have to change booking details later
Your cancelled passport should be returned to you when you receive the new one therefore you shouldn't need to change anything (show both at the point of departure).
good idea fingers apart from one tiny assumption, I will be flying from lobotomy ( all uk airports) central and producing 2 identity documents and the one quoted having expired will induce mong overload.... it enough excitement having the wheelchair examined by security. 2 mins on the internet seems a safer bet
