  1. What can you specialise as when you've become a Paratrooper? How long would I have to wait before I could specialise?

  2. Alright Mike G :)
  3. I would choose a different Avtar first, you have to earn a cap badge, irrespective what Regiment. I'm sure the Regt guys (Sandy the Governor) will be mighty please with you self issueing of the badge!

It's the internet and it's an avatar. Get real.
  5. As has been said, remove that avatar, you haven't earned it! :x

As for specialising, try specialising in passing the course first, as you have an extremely good chance of failing! :)

Otherwise I would suggest you could specialise as a SlopJockey! 8)
  6. As in para chef, para clk?

And I'll say it again, it's just an avatar. Anymore crap and I'll just delete the posts. Give it a rest.
  8. All the normal infantry options are available to you plus a few more particular to the Para reg. There is threads on this already so have a go of the search function mucker
  9. When you apply, the Paras will send you an infomation pack with fairly in-depth coverage of specialisations. I know the Para's website is currently a shambles, so not much help there, but just a quick google revealed this:

Not comprehensive, but should give you a vague idea of what's available. I recall that most people wait about 12-18 months after completing CIC before specialising, but don't quote me on that.

Editted to add, yes, the specialisations are basically the same as what's available for a normal infantry soldier.
  10. im in same boat, would like to know of the ones specific to the parachute regiment if anyone knows...someone told me you can do demolitions or something along those lines...may of been part of another specialisation however... :)
  11. You have to pass out of depot first. Then spend a few years in Rifle Coys then you can do other things.(before anyone gobs off thats what i have been told)
  12. you dont say...
  13. Platoons-
    Machine guns

dont no if there is more.
  14. ill ask someone in the know soon and if i remember ill post them
  15. Demolitions comes under the Assault Pioneer specialisation. So, yes, you do get to blow things up :D
