I would choose a different Avtar first, you have to earn a cap badge, irrespective what Regiment. I'm sure the Regt guys (Sandy the Governor) will be mighty please with you self issueing of the badge!

As has been said, remove that avatar, you haven't earned it! :x

As for specialising, try specialising in passing the course first, as you have an extremely good chance of failing! :)

Otherwise I would suggest you could specialise as a SlopJockey! 8)

What can you specialise as when you've become a Paratrooper? How long would I have to wait before I could specialise?

cheers!
All the normal infantry options are available to you plus a few more particular to the Para reg. There is threads on this already so have a go of the search function mucker

When you apply, the Paras will send you an infomation pack with fairly in-depth coverage of specialisations. I know the Para's website is currently a shambles, so not much help there, but just a quick google revealed this:

http://www2.army.mod.uk/infantry/join_the_infantry/job_specialisation.htm

Not comprehensive, but should give you a vague idea of what's available. I recall that most people wait about 12-18 months after completing CIC before specialising, but don't quote me on that.

Editted to add, yes, the specialisations are basically the same as what's available for a normal infantry soldier.

Demolitions comes under the Assault Pioneer specialisation. So, yes, you do get to blow things up :D
