I recently heard the term Apachy to describe someone living on the patch. Is it in common use?

After discussing it over dinner (God we're sad) we also discussed the origins of the term PADs. No conclusions so if anyone knows I'd be interested to find out

  2. Term "Pads" was in use in the late 1960s at least in Scottish regiments. Certainly was stolen from the counter culturalists. Although back then pad was only half a word when used by Jocks it was usually preceeded by "f*****g."
