This small book is number 2 in the Dogfight series from Osprey. The author has written about military aviation for a number of years and has had three books previously published by Osprey on aerial aspects of the Second World War.

In just six short chapters, the author takes us through the gestation and introduction to service of the P51B/C, compares it to the P47 Thunderbolt, describes the opposition aircraft of the Luftwaffe and takes the reader through a number of sorties involving the P51B/C. The author relates several stories of the aces who flew the aeroplane and some of these stories are lavishly illustrated.

Overall, this is a good read if you want an introduction to one of the most successful aircraft of the Second World War.
