Oxfam Staff Sexual Exploitation

#1
Searched for this and found nowt.
Good to know that the hundred quid raised at Aunty Ethel’s coffee morning went towards paying to get some charity worker’s rocks off in Haiti.
Oxfam denies 'Haiti prostitute' cover-up
Some of the prostitutes were alleged to be underage and given the circumstances, all of the encounters might be seen as exploitative. Hard to see how this won’t hit Oxfam in the pocket.

Well, it will.
They won't be getting any of my cash in the future.
Or the past, come to think of it.

For only £10 you can pay for a member of Oxfam to have a Haiti gangbang...

Gets worse tomorrow Times, I wonder if this is a leak by a Tory Oxfam type over the handwringing bollox Oxfam has become.

It's the price paid by NGOs when they recruit the French.

I've never been impressed by Oxfam.
My parents were supporters back in the 1980s but the charity has changed its objectives a lot since then.

They were notorious for sucking up to Tony Bliar and his New Labour cronies and also have been criticised for having a very wibbly internal organisation. They are as much a political lobbying organisation as a charity.

Not surprised that they have been caught with their pants down.

As a local it’s hard not to have a sense of pride in Oxfam- for years they were based in chaotic and labyrinthine offices above shops in Summertown.
But then the figures started being whispered- about the percentage of donations which went into administering the behemoth, then the move to a large new, purpose built HQ on Oxford Business Park (mmm, business park eh?). And you wonder whether all of that cash is being used as wisely as it absolutely bloody well should be: good people sweat, bleed and cry to raise money for Oxfam.

Then a story like this.

There was an article a few years ago that claimed for every £1 donated they kept more than 90p in admin costs.
Basically more of a business that donates a small percentage rather than a charity.

Haiti was a bag of shit from top to bottom according to a friend of mine. He was former German SF, left as a Hauptmann, having seen NGO's in operation in parts of the world he decided to dedicate a few years of his life to doing good. As part of his resettlement the Bundeswehr paid for him to do a Masters degree in international relief management and logisticky things. He joined one of the big international NGO's as a manager type on salary and his first posting was to Haiti. He stayed for about 6 months and binned the whole NGO thing because he was disgusted at what he actually saw going on behind the scenes - went off did some anti-piracy and now runs the family farm in Bavaria.

And it is this input, first hand preferably, second if you authenticate it, that makes Arrse relevant, apt , a force for good.

There must be a balance mustn’t there? On one hand we’ve got the “super charities” like Oxfam, with their multi-£100k salaried CEOs, big name supporters, high profile campaigns and their undoubted depth of knowledge and clout. Then on the other, you’ve got the little fish who might mean well but are too small to be effective- even if a higher proportion of the cash they raise goes to their good cause.

Charities on the scale of Oxfam suffer the same malaise as this country’s big business. The bosses are paid shitloads “because that’s what we need to pay to get the best,” but then turn out to be not the best and also unapologetic, unaccountable and out the door with a massive golden handshake.

Forces Support: In 2016 they raised nearly £4mil and only paid out 360k to charitable causes.

The soft substances are about to hit the air conditioning ducts.

OXFAM is given taxpayer's money as well as donations. Oxfam did not inform other agencies that subsequently employed these cretins about their misdeeds. Almost as corrupt as the UN, just a difference in scale.

Well it cannot be authenticated, as such, just my word that he told me this. I had moved to Florida the year before Haiti happened and when I found out my man was going to Haiti I told him I would pop over to say hello and lend a hand - being a trained plumbist and with acceptable capability in other trades. He initially told me to wait out for a couple or three months till things had settled, after that time was coming to a close he ended up telling me not to bother. One of the other lads from Germany, a more or less full-time reservist in a specialist role, did go over for a month and he echoed the bag of shite conclusion.

Cancer Research is the biggest scam I looked through the window expecting to see a bunch of scientists working away in a laboratory type setting and there was just a couple of old biddys folding jumpers.
