Over 50`s , How Knackered Are You ?

It's down to the individual and what their motivations are. If old farts genuinely believe physical congress is still important then good luck to them, just keep it to yourselves!

I would have thought it was more natural, bearing in mind that sexual intercourse was designed to propagate the species, once those fertile years had passed, to take up other hobbies such as line dancing, buying an American motorcycle to poot back and forth to your allotment, and be a repository for endless grandbrats while your offspring go on "date nights".
I asked my dad for their services the first weekend of October. Told them I wanted to take the wife out to a movie. Granted I just helped him stack two cords of firewood....... it’s all about asking at the right times.

I've got the other one tucked away for later ;-)

Thanks FOP, hope so, next rave date is the 24th November!
Spoke too soon. Surgeon found more damage than expected and I'm now on crutches and sick leave for the next six weeks.

That's exactly how it went with er indoors. If she didn't have Bupa it was a lengthy wait on the NHS for a knee replacement.
But you probably are aware of that.

I'm staff here ;-) self-referred to orthopaedic surgeon (top knee specialist in the UK) at the end of June, had appointment with him on the 4th July. Xray that day, MRI a week later. Results appointment on 7th August, he was going to do the surgery the following week but I had to be off HRT for 4 weeks before they could operate.
Hurrah for the NHS! :-D

What size are the slippers, not for me but Mrs 06 could do with a new pair.
UK size 6, she can have all my stilettos too as I won't be able to wear them for a while!

And no, I don't owe any of you lot anything!!

Not knocking the NHS at all GM. I've had excellent treatment in the past 18 months.
Everything you describe is pretty standard but how long would you have to wait for a complete replacement?

Tbh I don't know what the waiting times for knee surgery are. The government says 18 weeks from referral to treatment but we all know that doesn't happen.

It's alright for the privileged classes, eh? Jeremy'll stop all that.

I'll stick with a private plan, which is probably what the knee specialist spends most of his time doing. No real complaints about my last episode in an NHS hospital (RVH), though, as they sorted out the retina tear fairly well. The first bloke to have a go at lasering it was criticised by the second, who said that his settings on the machine were all wrong; had to do it all again himself (junior doctors, eh?) On seeing the Consultant a month later, I was prepped for a much more complex operation, although the Consultant only played with his laser again. The prepping involved stabbing a rusty bayonet into my eye, twisting and laughing - wholly unnecessary:

Should have gone private on it, after all.

I'm making the most of life as it could all come crashing down tomorrow.
But if that happened to me I would say 'fair play as I have no complaints'.
If you had asked me at 20 what I wanted to do with my life none of what I have achieved would have felt possible.
No desire to travel the world and no bucket lists for me, just happy to drink and talk into the small hours at rallies etc. and then get on my bike again next day.
