Just got back from Darwin Parade, very nice idea and very well done.

Congratulations to all involved.

Wonderful for my little lad to see daddy march.

They gave me a nice lapel badge as well, there may be others on here, who can get one.

It's a nice thing to have like the British vets badge.

Here's a picture of an infantry captain taken from the news site mentioned above. He seems to have been busy. Also I don't believe I have seen tribal tatts on officers before.
Although I am a little unfamiliar with the Australian Honour System, I have identified some of his gongs. My initial research indicates:

1. Australia Active Service Medal
2. Afghanistan Medal
3.Iraq Medal (?)
4. Unknown
5. Defense Long Service
6. Australian Defense Medal
7. Unknown
8. NATO Medal (?)

No doubt a digger will be along in a bit to add to my knowledge. :-D

4. Australian Service Medal.
7. UN medal for UNTAET - East Timor with two visits.

Edited to add: red backing to black pips indicates Sydney University Regiment (I think). He is probably ARA permanent staff (cushy).
