Opening Up Chokes

Ive got an old Browning B27 , not worth much , it`s full/full choke , 30" barrels , Q : can the barrels be opened up to say 1/2 & 1/4 ? how much should I expect to pay a gunsmith for this ?

Cheers

I'll have a chat with my local shotgun builder. He will know, I need to bend his ear about chamber reaming a 2 & 1/2" chambered 28 bore into a 2 & 3/4" as thats about the only cartridge I can get in that bore.

They can be opened up BUT, and here's the rub, some say that the barrels need to be re-Proofed.

The proof house is of the opinion that everything needs to be reproofed at all times. Can't imagine why...

If they tried to be dicks about it, they'd go down like the Hindenburg in court

Fortunately plenty of people are willing to ignore the proof house or stand up to them!

Chokes opened on a 12 bore game gun. 720 right and 710 left for skeet shooting. I was charged £118. But it was 2006 when that was done.
