Opening Rar Files

#1
Someone's sent me a .rar file and I want to open it - anyone got any recommendations of which program to use?

IIRC recent versions of Winzip* have that facility.

* Other software compression programmes are available.

Don't you have to pay for that though?

WinRAR is freeware. WinZip can get a bit weird when fiddling with trial vs full licenses.

It's not freeware. It just doesn't force you to pay.

There's a (moral) difference. :p

edit:- It's a great (un) archiver.

OK, cheers!

But if it breaks my computer-machine, then I'll find out where you live and then come round and poo on your car/mum/flowerbeds/cat (whichever I see first).

Thanks chaps - the CNET one didn't work, so I went with 7Zip and it seems to be fine.
