Open Market Home Buy

Has anyone got any experience of using this service? For those who think they might, essentially the idea is that in order to extend your buying power for house purchase the government pays up to 50% of the value of the house, you secure a mortgage for the other half.
eg. I get a mortgage for £150K, and a government 'loan' for the other £150K, thus enabling me to buy a more expensive house than my meagre salary will allow.

Would be grateful for anyone's views.
