I really don't recall, but pretty sure that you're right there. The helipad was strewn with bodies, but the RHF had strength in numbers from the NAAFI - no real injuries either, and no major repercussions, but it was a fine event to witness from the scenic windows of the RMP Cpls Mess next to the helipad.
That would have been 1980, I'm fairly sure. I was living either in Drumadd or at Middletown and the RHF were choppering/bussing out after a 'relaxing' day in Drumadd.
Edit: Any Scots military historian could probably give you the exact date; RHF out of Armagh 80ish.
Happy days -1 RHF left mid December 1980 handing over to 3 Para.
Drumadd Barracks was RHQ, HQ and D Company.
A coy minus a Pl attached to B company was Middletown,
B company plus a Pl was based Aughnacloy covering north including Cookstown
C company - Dungannon - that brain isn't dead yet!!
A/Tk pl was Keady
