Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Normally I wouldn't bother posting something like this, but. judging by the
numbers signing up[1], it may have legs of a sort.

    Road Pricing Petition

Shirley even the blinkered tw*ts in #10 & 11 can see that there is a bit of
    a groundswell?

Anyway, I commend the petition to the house.

    [1] It's increased by nearly 10,000 since 0830.

If this is posted elsewhere then my appologies, I must have missed it.
  2. Done!
  3. Everybody should ask themselves; if they charge you per mile for driving will they:

    Build new roads?

    Relinquish tax on fuel?

and have road charges benefited London's roads?

If the answer is no then I suggest you sign the petition...

    Done -

In UK I drove about 6000 miles a year, over here about 1500. In both countries I pay tax on fuel [OK, less here @ 70p/litre and no Road Fund Licence or MOT] ... but wherever I am I already pay by usage!! And I get 17mpg out of my disgustingly large 4x4, so I'm subsidising the Fiesta brigade as well!

The unfairness of this concept should be transparently obvious to anyone with 3 brain cells.
  10. Online petitions are a load of bollox, noone takes any notice of them.

Road pricing will only be viable if they can stick a black box in your know what to do...
