Old style Stable belt?

#1
Does anybody happen to know where the old style stable belt can be bought as I'm after one? By old, I'm on about the front-fastening kind with silver plate buckle and Staybrite badge. Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't think you need one of them where you are going. I would be more concerned about getting one of the purple variety for afterwards. Praise be to the PRI and their extortionate prices!!

Having both old and new style, do we need to keep the old style ones to go with No 2 dress? If so, isn't that justification for the PRI to stock them?

Really, whose trip to the land of psychedelia inspired that idea? I've never seen anything as f'kin arrse looking in my life. I nearly lost me drill voice when confronted with that eye-searing combo. Please don't let it out again.

No...I may have been less than clear.

The buckle was (in the past) transferred to a normal plastic green belt for waering with No.2 dress. Obviously this has been dropped in favour of just wearing a green p[lastic belt with pristine black buckles.

I have to admit placing mine on E-Bay and making a small profit. I felt guilty when I saw the buyer was actually a "Corps colleague" based in 1 MI rather than some memorabilia collector. The guilt struck me even further when I heard that RSM 1 (incidentally a close friend) stated that the troops there couldn't wear the buckle style belt.....I formally apologise to the young chap who bought my belt and I hope you get to wear it one day !!!!! But business is business

Why do you want an 'old style' stable belt?

Interested because it all sounds like looking 'ally' to me. When I was a youth we bought the stable belt that you call 'old style' (with the buckle) and the belt that we now wear was the 'old style' in my youth. Obviously at that time we were all chopping our c0cks off to wear the 'old style' belt.

So...why do you want one?

Watch the flap when the Col-in-Chief pegs it and they decide they want the buckle with the belt on Blues (I wonder if the Corps RSM is lurking!!!)

This also reminds me of a thread on this forum from a while ago, about youngsters trying to get hold of the buckle type belt to give them more credibility! Apparently if you have one of these it makes you look like you have more time in. Are we getting a little bit of 'walting' in the corps. Personally I couldn't care less. I have both, currently wear the current style and have never been a slave to fashion (As many posters on here will probably testify to).
