Went into my local Army Careers today only to be told that I was too old for any branch of the army. Turns out that 17-33 actually means 32yrs, 11 months.

I'm in the TA about to take CIC. Is there any way around the upper age limit?
  2. I was gonna say a Time Machine but thats not a constructive answer so ill not say it.

  3. Why have you left it until now to join?
  4. How old are you exactly?

Left it late to join the TA too, just got back from annual camp sure that this is what I want to do..

33 years and 2 sodding months.
  6. Thought about the MPGS?
  7. RauxAF Regiment...up to 50 years old 8)
  8. Age limit for TA is 43 mate
  9. Think you'll find he said he left it late to join the ta too, Not left it too late. He is already in.

MPGS needs three years previous service I believe. As he's just joined the TA that'll be a no-no.

Could possibly wait until trained and then go FTRS though?
  11. or an 'S' type engagement?

I've got CIC coming up in a couple of months then prolly a tour next year. FTRS sounds interesting, I'll look into it.
  13. any age limits on FTRS then?
i thought it was same as joining the regs :?
  14. MPGS is 3 years Regular service OR 5 years TA.I know of one bloke who went MPGS from TA Rifles and is now a Pioneer with the RLC.
