Old documentaries - but cannot find them on YouTube

I am not sure what made me think of it, but I recall stumbling upon a documentary on BBC2. There was some boring waffle and then it showed a student taking her knickers off, sitting on a chair and having a good rub, whilst being filmed ultra up close.

Needlessly explicit for a Science documentary.

“Needlessly”.

Hmm. That speaks volumes.

It speaks volumes that I did not want to incur the wrath of those who disapprove of such things, or prudish moderators. I sometimes wonder why they are happy to show depictions of people having sex, but not of the human anatomy.

As a society we have some strange attitudes.

Dis she have a tool like this in her hand? :? Asking for a friend, etc. :?

Channel 4 did a cracking one about the Russians in Afghanistan c 1990.
Some great footage and surprisingly moving music.
It wasn't this one about Senior Lt Comrade Snoopy and his BTR crew from the Soviet Airborne was it?

Previously posted on the Ally thread.

There was a programme made in about 1990, by the BBC I think about poaching in Zimbabwe especially Rhino. It was made at around the same time as the Soviets in Afghanistan video by the journeyman team.

It featured Paratroopers from the Zimbabwean Army 1 Parachute battalion jumping in from Dakotas in an operation to capture the poachers and white game rangers operating from a light aircraft, one who was a former Rhodesian Light Infantry soldier who had operated with FireForce in the bush war.

I have looked on google and YouTube but have not managed to see it again.

Have you got a link to that archive? I am particularly interested in the 1990 one about Saddam Hussein's acquisition of Western technology for weapons development? I think they did another one just on the Supergun project.

I wonder if there are archives of the Esther Rantzen programme I mentioned in the first post?
If you are really interested in the Matrix Churchill affair, and the report of the Scott Enquiry on it, you can happily while away an hour or so ( as I recently did) reading the speeches in Hansard of the debate after the publication of Lord Scott’s report.
I’m not planning on reading the 2,000 page report anytime soon but the record of the debate in parliament was interesting.

Can anyone remember the Panorama / Dispatches programme title where they interview the Taliban - I seem to remember one of them whining about the food, pay, time off etc - and another where they couldn't get an RCIED to initiate.

Possibly around 2010?

Try these ;

Now , if you want Linda Lusardi's phone number , it'll cost you

Troubleshooter was very good. Intelligent, un-sensationalised viewing of a kind you wouldn't see now.

I remember the programme he made about Morgan's mmanufacturing process. I thought he was going to have a stroke. It was so (unintentionally) funny. And Morgan are still going despite their unusual BUT traditional ways.

Weren't there a plethora of those management gurus in the 1990s? Harvey in the UK, Tom Peters in the US, all extolling the virtues of some companies while railing against the practices of others.

I seem to recall some survey done a few years ago of the companies that were vaunted as the success stories and half of them had since gone bust.

I stumbled across this documentary on Youtube a couple of days ago.

A couple of them are far too cute to be running around with rifles and should be on the international escort circuit

I would hate to be the enemy when they are all on the blob at the same time.

The Game Ranger conducts a bit of recce by fire with a GPMG from the plane if I recall it correctly.

I remember ‘Letter’s home from Vietnam’ when my dad had it on VHS. I think it ended with the song ‘Born in the USA’ at the end credits?..
A powerful documentary that I haven’t seen for many years.
