"Old" £20 notes cease to be legal tender on 30 June

Mmmm...better warn the aged Fenian crone, mother of the lovely Fenian Bride. She has carrier bags of cash secreted about her lair and I am pretty sure that never mind £20s with Elgar, she probably has fivers with Old Nosey on them!

It would interesting to know 'how many' are still in circulation still & when the ATM's will cease despensing them

to be fair, how many of us will bother to check these notes until it's too late, ah well at least we can get them exchanged at the BoE

Most (if not all) banks will continue to accept them (but not hand them back out). Traders probably won't be that bothered as they know they take them to the bank the same as anyone else. Armed blaggers with a suitcase full of them might be a bit miffed though.
