Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. We've put together an "off-piste special" starting 7th January. Normal price is only £439. This includes the usual:-
7 nights accommodation - 300 metres from Val d'Isere town centre
    Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
    and also includes:-
Ski Pass (7 days Espace Killy Pass - Val d'Isere & Tignes area)
Equipment (Off-Piste Skis, Boots, Sticks, Transceiver, Shovel & Probe)
Instruction / Guiding (4 and a 1/2 days of instruction)

The course is aimed at a strong skier who is happy skiing "off-the-piste" ie in the rough cut up snow in between pistes and wants to advance onto back country skiing. Instruction covers technique for powder, crust etc, safety, use of transceivers, avalanche risks & assessment, snow conditions, navigation. Obviously lots of skiing included - making good use of the classic itinerary routes and couloirs around Val d'Isere.
