Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Having like many in the Corps used an Oddy Gun to pump up the tracks on a Scimitar, always making sure that there was one in the troop for exercise and operations.

But where did the name come from? Is it Oddy or Oddie?

I know some old RQMS(T) or SQMS will have the NSN and correct designation, but i just want to know where the name cacme from.

Ive known it by that name for over 20 years, wher on Chiefy each tank had one.

I hope i can get this one put to bed quickly. :?
  2. I can remember it being called O D gun an abbreviation for two words long since lost in the murky depths of my damaged little mind
    oil distribution!!

While looking I did find a CVR/T CES parts site buy your tank bits here. :?
