obituaries- of the Old n Bold

Enjoy reading the obituaries of the Old 'n' Bold, especially when they raise a smile. One comment taken from Staff Sergeant Jack Dempsey obituary.

At Chelsea Flower Show he was a stalwart collector for the Army Benevolent Fund, taking more than £500 on his first two occasions.

On the third, last May, he ignored the strict instructions to remain outside the grounds and went into the show with his bucket – only to be escorted out by the police. Playing on his deafness, he went back four times and collected a total of more than £2,600.

Link of full career and life of Staff Sergeant Jack Dempsey.

The Telegraph is an excellent source of fantastic obits. They periodically publish collectioms of the best ones- I have the Military and Naval volumes at home, and are only bettered for cludgie reading by Commando comics imho.
The Telegraph's website has a whole section devoted to military obituaries, an enlightening and entertaining way to pass the time. If I wasn't such a technoplaegic, I'd post details, but I'm sure google will help those interested.
