O2 and iphone?

anyone else having drama with this combo of phone and supplier?
mine is a iphone 4s and it regularly seems to cease to work. i have got all 5 bars signal, wifi, 3G, the works.
it just wont accept or make a call.
this happens at least once a week, regardless of where I am in the UK, then seems to rectify itself.
same for texts, they just stop arriving, then i get a gaggle of them a couple of hours later. the same applies to texts that I send, people tell me that they will recieve them from me in clusters of 3 or 4 and much later than the time i actually sent them
O2 have a truly awful customer support line as well

anyone else experienced this, or am I just the lucky one?
Happens occasionally - usually at peak times - that I can't place a call, corrects itself within minutes.

Can't say about texts cos I hate the ******* things and never use them.
doesn't seem to be only peak time, that at least would make sense.

the texts are usually from my subbies, want me to forward them on :)
