NZ Unknown Warrior laid to rest

Rest in Peace and Honour

We in the Old Country owe so much to the heroes from New Zealand and every part of the Commonwealth. The Kiwis were the bravest of the brave.
About time Presidente Hellon Clark and the gubbmint did something right, took long enough, pity there were no WW1 vets left to see it.

This morning (Armistice Day) an Unknown Warrior was laid to rest at the National War Memorial in Wellington.

After his return from France, where he fell Great War, he had laid in state at Parliament before being taken on a gun carriage to the Memorial with an honour guard drawn from the Royal New Zealand Navy, the New Zealand Army and the Royal New Zealand Air Force.,2106,3093568a10,00.html,,3882-3849066,00.html

Flippin heck, I'm filling up as I'm reading those linked reports. We owe the Kiwis a lot. Rest in Peace.

The unknown Warrior

The tumult and the shouting dies;
The captains and the kings depart.
Still stands thine ancient sacrifice,
An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget, lest we forget.
