He must have antibodies the size of golf balls.

The former Afghanistan war veteran began his epic journey near the Pacific Ocean at Camana in Peru in April 2008 and had been expecting to complete the 4,000 mile journey in one year.
Can you be a veteran if the War's still banging on? More to the point, can you be a 'former veteran' as they seem to intimate?

Double nails considering he collapsed the day before he finished and has been walking a gruelling 60-70km a day for the last weeks or so.

I'm not sure Ed was in the Army when he was in Afghan as I was of the understanding he was working for the UN although I may be wrong.

That aside a very impressive acheivement that has come at considerable cost, emotionally and financially but nevertheless one of the truly great expeditions. Ed is a great guy, laid back, humble and has a great sense of humour. I am looking forward to reading the book and would love to hear him speak.

Some very funny blogs and some thoughtful insights.
