Tories have taken over as local village idiots..I mean civic leaders... and have decided that veterans should no longer get anything decent to drink on Rememberance Sunday.

And Labour, being such huge supporters of the armed forces are all up in arms about it...

Linky type thing.

But Cllr Harvey said: "Already we are seeing the results of a Tory administration at the town hall - cutting out hospitality for the ex-servicemen; axing this year's school exchange between Roanne and Nuneaton at very short notice for the parents; closing of public toilets in our parks, which will undoubtedly lead to problems of hygiene, and causing particular problems to people with disabilities."
Surprising? Not really.

Well if reducing free beers (fek it, we don't get any) and jolly parties for the mayor and his folks results in spending 140,000 more on folks who really need it, then well I can't argue too much. But that's a big IF.

Sounds like the Tory council is reducing costs to keep the taxes low.

To be expected really.

Cameron said that he would match public spending of the Liabour govt for at least 2 years.
He also said that their will only be tax cuts if public services can be maintained.
