Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hypothetically, whilst we have to give 12 months' notice, if one were to have a firm offer of a job in civvie street that would only stay open for, say, three months, what would one's chances be of getting out early?

  2. If you were hypothetically in the AAC and hypothetically not an AH Pilot I think your chances would be hypothetically very fact, they would hypothetically push you.
  3. There used to be an early release policy? I was told not to, but it was an option presented to me
  4. It all depends on whether or not you're CO or MCM Div will let you go. I wasn't allowed but the trick is to make it so that you leave the Army say 3 or 4 months after you have just been posted out of a job. The idea is that you leave the job as you're encumbant has arrived but the army can't do anything with you as you are entitled not to go abroad in your last 6 months. A friend of mine got posted to the Army Band and just buggered about looking for work instead!
