    Turns out that the amazing new Private Browing function we get on Firefox et al is being completely undermined by third-party browser plugins and server-side security. Looks like we'll have to take even more care when it comes to covering our electronic trails from the missus.

    Also, while this post was created partly as a warning, I also wanted to point out that the research that uncovered these flaws and limitations in the grot-searcher's weapon of choice is called...

    ... Dr Boner. You couldn't make this stuff up :D

    I'm impressed by one of the things that this research discovered:

    "It found that private browsing was most popular when people visited adult sites"

    Well, who'd have guessed? Glad that research grant wasn't wasted :)
  3. Never saw what was wrong wih tools>options>delete internet history personally.

    Do the job properly and use a Linux Live CD.

  5. If your using Firefox the BetterPrivacy addon is useful, deletes LSO's and your DOM storage.
