I am clearing searchnu.com/406 off my computer, i THINK.

i say i think because it comes within ILIVID programme which i have cleared out at least 3 times and it keeps coming back. Any of you folks had this problem ?
it slows down my pooter and knocks out my interweb . Also if i put uk dictionary into fire fox as an addon that seems to ferk up performance as well .

  2. I downloaded ilivid a while back as it was supposed to allow me to watch some sort of random porn if I recall, however it did chuck a few extra bits and pieces. I did eventually sort it out, if I recall it was relatively easy.

I think I went into my browser options and removed the search/406 malarky from the default browser options:

    Internet Explorer:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Go to Tools > Options.
    3. On General tab, proceed to ”Change search defaults” and click the “Settings” button.
    4. You will see a list of search providers. Select your desired search provider and click the button “Set as default” to replace searchnu.com.
    5. You may now remove searchnu.com from the list.

    Mozilla Firefox:
    1. Open Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser.
    2. On Google’s Search box, click the “arrow down” beside the logo.
    3. Select “Manage Search Engine” from the drop-down list.
    4. Choose your desired search default and click the button “Move up.” It should be on the top of the list to set it as default.
    5. You can now remove other installed search engine.

    Google Chrome:
    1. Open Google Chrome.
    2. Click on the Wrench icon on top right corner of the browser.
    3. Choose “Settings” from the drop down list.
    4. Select “Basics.”
    5. Click on “Manage search engines” under SEARCH settings area.
    6. Hover your mouse to a preferred search engine and click “Make default.”
    7. You can now remove unwanted search provider by clicking on the X mark.

Which antivirus software are you using?

  5. Of course you pooter has BIOS, it wouldnt work otherwise.

    Do you mean MS-DOS?

  6. I think he means that the quickboot is enabled, when all you see is a monochrome HP logo. To the uninitiated, it might look as if there's "no BIOS" cos you don't see AMIBIOS/Phoenix etc.

  7. try holding down 'delete' when switching computer on, if that doesnt work try F8, then F12
