No they don't. Far, far too short - that could be cracked in less than a second. You should be using at least 36 characters.

I must be above an officer because I can recall my eight digit number.

Some officers have 8 digit numbers too you know. ( and all newish ones do now too).

I use my Germany postings and swap some letters for numbers i.e. '1' for 'i' and '3' for 'e'.
Easy to remember and defo not on any PW lists! Thank the gods for long (8 letters or more) German town names.

Slight deviation but for what it's worth, if I have to use a search engine in order to get to a previously used site that is not in my favourites or have a shortcut for, I make a point of entering a wrong password every time I log in, on the premise that if it is a 'phishing site' they won't know the real password.
If it is rejected, then obviously it is the genuine site, and I enter the corrected password.
