The day that happens you will find many many people leaving the tech trade. lets face it thats why 90% of SNCO techs are there to attempts it remove it and alot will leave!

Yeah - good one.

Who will fill their boots then........Geeky IS Supervisors?

DREAM ON

And I am not a tech.

The FofS course is far harder than the IS Supervisors course (and the YofS course, although I would not admit it face to face with a tech). They are generally far brighter and have much more common sense than your IS Supervisor.

Loose the Foreman, Neah.

Next.

The Supvr IS course and the Foremans course are completely different, and i dont understand where you get the opinion about the common sense of either. Have you done either of the courses? If not, i dont think your qualified to make the comment.

You don't have to have done either of the courses to recognise if someone has common sense or not.

Also the courses will not teach common sense.

I am not an IS Eng or a Tech but Gods trade.

Thanks to what can only be descriped as shockingly s**t (or F****d up) planning, we seem to be very overmanned in techs. Thus they are taking a real beating, losing all kinds of goodies they previously enjoyed, £10,000 bonuses and automatic promotion. Let's just hope that this is all turned around before they all leave to civvie street when the jobs market perks up.

But we all know what will happen. We'll be well undermanned before all of a sudden Operation Back Peddle is put in to action.

MCM Div, the M does stand for "Management" but more like crisis management than career management.

What do we need techs for anyway they rarely seem to be able to fix anything these days anyway. Seems like we get Quantity not Quality at the moment. By this I mean in a Tech work shop of 10 there will be 2-3 worth their salt who end up being the only one's you'd trust when you do need a Job doing
