Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Currently have a Hiatt handcuff stuck to my left wrist (been fooling around with the girlfriend :S) however its stuck, keys wont open it.

Any Ideas? Dont fancy nipping round to the police station with it on it might raise eyebrows

    this is not a wah

  2. Dont worry, in the fullness of time it will drop off due to advanced corrosion. Why not take up macrami as a pleasant and fullfilling hobby until then?

    Marge.

  3. WD40 to loosen the mechanism?

  4. Cut your hand off, hey presto - the cuffs become loose.

    Hope this helps.

  5. That would mean wandering around down stairs with the house mate, Do you think the oil from a rifle cleaning kit would work?

  6. What's the other end handcuffed to? :D

  7. Nothing now, that one unlocked fine, so now I just have to figure out whats wrong with the locked bit on my left hand

  8. Panic over then. Try some oil in it. If it's really jammed then it'll need cutting off.

  9. Brilliant! Bet your girlfriend is finding this hilarious! This must be a joke...would you really sit there stuck in handcuffs and think to ask ARRSE?!

  10. PM sent.

  11. Go to local fire station and they will cut it off, (the handcuff not your arm)!!

However before doing that check you have not engaged the locking mechanism which prevents the handcuff from being continually tightened, some have a slide type button, some have a press in button and some are activated by the key.

Try turning the key the wrong way as to lock then turn to unlock. (You do have the correct key?).

Photographs of the handcuff may be helpful!!!

    Good luck
