Night Nav

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. OK Bone question. I'm on the Junior Leaders course with cadets and need to be able to operate in a tactical environment at night.
For night navigation, is a blue filter on your torch suitable or does it have to be green?
  2. Is the torch so you can see your SatNav?
  3. Green if you need it for map reading, blue to identify blood on the cadets who've mashed themselves
  4. Just spend the next few weeks with one eye tightly closed. Then when it gets dark, open your closed eye, you will have perfect night vision.
Trust me, I used to be a soldier.
