Australia wouldn’t be my first choice but I’d I was you I’d have already packed my bags to get out of Scotland before it’s sinks further down the pan in the eternal race to the bottom the SNP are intent on inflicting on everyone.
Nowhere is going to be perfect but better to be miserable sat on the beach in the sunshine than trudging round Pollok park in the p1ssing rain. Much more welcoming tax regime too.

As decent as Pollok Park is for fartlek running, I'm increasingly struggling to fathom why anyone with transferrable prospects/ skills would desire to remain in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Scotland.

Must have been AY. Not been on the last few weeks. Been deciding on a move to Australia, SWMBO got offered a job with a 40% pay bump. GTFO out of Scotland is very, very tempting.

Australia?
Fecking wimp! :)

Cheers DD. Wherever you decide to go, good luck. I ended up in sunny Devon over 50 years ago, courtesy of HM Forces. Never regretted it for one moment. The plan was to retire way up north, think Inverness, hang a left heading for Torridon direction. Never happened. Seeing what the gnats are doing, I have no regrets about that decision either.
Take care, and best wishes for whateffer you decide in the future.

I have to admit, I'm finding the idea of encountering the wildlife somewhat intimidating.

That photo was taken just prior to a shark/croc/spider/snake/drop bear killing her.
She escaped the jellyfish then?

Isn't that exactly what the NATs want, do drive out the moderate sensible voters.

its not all roses over there mate - 2 years of covid has fully exposed the fact that Australia is ruled by hardline, power hungry, dictators who actually put Sturgeon to shame! also, according to one of my colleagues who lived and worked in Austrailia your missus will need that 40% extra due to the high costs of property and living - i've not been there myself but others have told me it is very expensive and their govt during covid has been absolutely terrifing! in comparison, boJo , sturgeon and drakeford are mere amateurs in their dictats!

Likewise with Trudeau's Canada seemingly (as a place folk would consider emigrating to) to the extent a whole bunch of truckers have went 'off message' in Ontario regarding the covid zealotry.

Crocs ate them
Which were then eaten by the honey badger
Sir Terry nailed it in his book on Fourecks:
Both the flora and fauna of the continent is extremely dangerous, as Death's Library attests. A book series known as "Dangerous Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, Fish, Jellyfish, Insects, Spiders, Crustaceans, Grasses, Trees, Mosses and Lichens of Terror Incognita" extends at least into "Volume 29c Part Three", while a list of the harmless ones contains only "Some of the sheep." There are few poisonous snakes in XXXX, but the explanation for this is that "most of them have been eaten by the spiders".

I have often wondered how, despite our nation's many incredible and sophisticated contributions to engineering and science, and hundreds of years of complex civil engineering works, we still haven't managed to fill a bloody pothole for more than 2 seconds.

What's the point of filling them with stuff that they know will wash out at the next drop of rain?
Macadam must be spinning in his grave.
