Of course Mrs Sturgeon still wants to try and blame Westminster.
Quoted in The Daily Record; “"We will also continue to argue for reform of drugs law, which is not currently within our power.
Has she no shame?
So why doesn’t she get one of her Westminster MP’s to introduce a private members bill? Or am I offering up too much common sense?

Grievances are worth more votes than solutions.

We are told that Scotland has the highest drug related death rate in Europe, surely that is issue?

According to a couple of folk this morning on Radio (One from Scottish Drugs Forum and the other from Poverty Action) is all linked to poverty.
18 times more likely to have a substance problem in the lowest socio-economic group than highest.
Also over 20 years difference in life expectancy.

Those things are part of the problem But they don’t explain why Scotland is worse than anywhere else.

Everyone misses another point about drugs now: they are everywhere, absolutely everywhere. Readily available in every walk of life, every school, every town. They’ve literally been normalised. And as someone pointed out, Scots will always be first to grab.
Growing up in the Glasgow schemes in the 70’s and 80’s, I simply cannot remember there being the distribution network there is now.
Oh, hang on that would be pre-EU when it was mostly just endemic crime gangs to deal with. Think that’s ever going to be brought up by ScotGov? B0ll0cks it is.

As I understand it, the disparity between lowest and highest socio-economic groups is more marked in Scotland.
Certainly evident in health and life expectancy.

Hmm, now there's a conundrum: do they take drugs because they're poor, or are they poor because they take drugs?

Without doubt the former, leading to them being ever poorer

There are alternative ways to escape poverty. Many arrsers have done it. It involves education and hard work. Both are in short supply in these communities and rather than criticise any aspect 14 years of SNP corruption or control of their lives, they are still blaming Mrs Thatcher for it.

Lots of poor people dont take drugs, the reason druggies do it, is because they are *******.
