Morning chaps,
Hands off cocks, feet in thinking socks.
Here's a proposal:
Soup powder, but in tablet form.
Literally every food powder, but in tablet form.
I have a stonker of a cold, I can't sleep, and I've just smashed back a berocca, and those fizzy little sods got me thinking.

Wouldn't it be ace if you could have an aluminium tube remarkably like a berocca tube, with tablets of soup, milk powder, coffee and so on?
Prevents fecking around with little packets, reduces rubbish in the field, and is relatively waterproof, so no turning out your pockets to find a mess.
Might get wet anyway if you're a complete nong, but that's evolution innit.

Better still, corned beef and so on that comes in a sealed plastic squeezy tube, so you're not standing about with half a tin sitting open. Need to bung a heap of preservatives in there, but I'm not getting younger, and you've got to die of something.
Even better still, just enlarge the little match containers in ORPs, sort out a better seal, and shove the tablets in there. Job jobbed.

Also, if captured by the enemy, one could shove the container up yer hoop.
Not to hide anything, just... you know... who doesn't like a pokey bum wank every now and then?

There's at least a tenner in it for any multinational that takes this idea up.

Didn't work out too well in Scott's expedition.

The dogs did hardly anything but fight, frostbite attacked, the snow was so soft that they sank in well above their ankles and progress was so slow that on the second day they only made five miles. The rations got mixed up in the bag so that a mush of sugar, cheese, butter, soup tablets and chocolate had to be cooked together.

Now then, water in tablet form would be an awesome idea. You know just add the tablet to 1 litre of water, wait for the fizzing to stop - hey presto, 1.001 litres of slightly gritty water.

It's people like you that take all the fun out of viagra and such like.

You both missed things in a big way there, you've both posted glorified stock cubes and not the actual dehydrated soup turned into an Alka-Seltzer.

You know, "plink, plink, fizz" instant broth
Meh, who gives a fûck. When I make soup, I do it properly, girt big chunks of meat, vegetables and pearl barley - keeps one regular if nothing else.

Bloody antipodeans with their "soup tablets".

If you can toss a pancake, toss it into the bin.

Sounds a bit like this. If you give The Man any lip in the hole, the bastards get all your food for the day, knead it all into a ball - your conflakes, you baloney sandwiches and your tuna pastba bake and blancmange, bake it for an hour and hoy it through the door at 3am

Prison Loaf, sometimes calledNutraloaf, disciplinary loaf, food loaf, confinement loaf, seg loaf, grue or special management meal, is a food served in United Statesprisons to inmates who have misbehaved in various ways; for example, assaulting prisonguards or fellow prisoners.

You are a few years too late mate.

Up to 5,000 tons of Erbswurst pea soup tablets were issued to the Prussians in the Franco-Prussian war.
Knorr bought the licence in 1889 and still sells it today.

A paper wrapped tube containing pea soup tablets, unwrap tube, extract tablet & rewrap tube.

If you're desperate to try it you can buy online from various sources like this one

Lightweights, that would go straight in the fryer in Glasgow

Fucked if I'm going to order from them, look at the minimum order quantities! 5 tons of this, 20 Ft container of that. I have an appetite, but not that big!
One would hope it comes in one massive tablet, able to be hollowed out and lived in.
