News story: Update: air strikes against Daesh

I mean, if some skilled bomb disposal guy, using essentially hand tools, was driven to the truck in a rather nice Aston Martin which subsequently vanished in the demolition explosion, we'd raise an eyebrow as taxpayers.

Unfortunately, EOD don't just appear.

They have to be transported to theatre, accommodated, fed and watered in a base that may not otherwise be required. They then have to move to the location of the VBIED. All of the above requires Force Protection and Logs which would expose numerous personnel to hostile action.

The sum of all the above would significantly exceed the cost of a Brimstone, particularly given the area coverage offered by Air.

MM
