Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  2. Good luck to them with any parade through the town (sorry city now). All the streets are at sharp uphill as they all lead to the Castle. Some of the Old and Bold might not make it.

  3. Good point 1stgulfmac but Stirling has experience of holding the Stirling Military Show, where the veterans marched from the foot of King Street to the Show venue at King's Park. Event details

I would think that Stirling's experience played a part in its selection as the national host for the 2014 AFD.

  4. Stirling is a fine city and the castle is an excellent venue.

I have read suggestions that this is a unionist ploy to divert attention from the pro-independence campaign, by focussing on the role of the armed forces. Given that until recently the idea that Scotland shed more blood or made a greater sacrifice was an inherence "self-evident truth" in most Scots ideology I will watch with interest. The pro-independence campaign has always implied that our share of the grief (not the glory) was disproportionate (to our cost).
