Doesn't go far enough IMHO. Ban them from the terraces too.

    Q. What do you call a woman at a football match?

    A. A waste of a ticket.

Every woman at a football game is sat in a blokes seat. Half of them are asleep.

  3. I have to say I fully agree with Mr Newell. Women can officiate the Women's Football League. Women play in it, see. Some sports are inexplicably male/female only - 9 Ball Pool, for example. This is a good example of a sport over which gender or strength has no advantage. Merging it into a unisex sport such as show jumping would only serve to make it more interesting, although it's unlikely to happen.

As for the integration of sexes, the problem doesn't lie only with football - can anyone remember a recent story where some pro golfer was denied entry to a women's golf tournament on the grounds that he was male? He obviously entered it to prove a point, after Michelle Wie was allowed to compete in men's tournaments, but it was a point well made.

Birds - Leave our sport alone. It's our only bastion of sanity.
